Woman Busted Following Investigation Into Drug Sales In Area, Police Say

An area woman was busted following an investigation for alleged narcotics sales in the area.

Dutchess County resident Ashley Sniffen, age 32, of Amenia, was busted on Wednesday, March 24, by the Dutchess County Drug Task and the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office following an investigation into drug sales in the Harlem Valley area, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator of the task force.

Sniffen was taken into custody on Route 343 in the town of Amenia and was found to be in possession of more than 140 bags of heroin/fentanyl and several rocks of crack cocaine, Tasciotti said.

She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and released following arraignment.

Additional charges may be pending, Tasciotti said.

Also arrested during the investigation was 26-year-old Amenia resident Tyler Recchia who was wanted on two Dutchess County warrants.

Recchia was turned over to the Millerton Police Department for processing.
